My name is Sangeetha and I am authoring this blog on behalf of my husband - Nook (to friends) a.k.a Babu (to family) to provide some level of communication in terms of updates on his difficult journey to our supportive family and friends who are as anxious as I am for him to completely heal, and be whole and healthy again! Hello Everybody!
As most of you know, Nook was scheduled to go in for a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) on March 29th at City of Hope to treat his condition of MDS/Myelofibrosis. We were all set and on the brink of our journey to good health again, when he developed some complications with unexplained fevers and was admitted into the hospital on March 22nd. One thing led to another, and he has been in the ICU since March 27th. The BMT has been cancelled for now...he has an enlarged spleen (Splenomegaly), that is eating up all his transfused platelets and blood. The spleen is normally 10-11 cms and Nook's spleen is 28 cms and taking up his entire abdomen. All that pressure build-up has pushed the lungs reducing respiratory capacity, the kidney and the liver. He is on dialysis for the kidney (the machine is fascinating to Ronak who keeps declaring every day: "Daddy can come home - his blood looks all cleaned up!!!" The doctor is considering splenectomy - a very risky procedure. I need all your prayers.

Sangeetha- Tell Ronak that Daddy will come home soon! We are all praying all the time for him!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear his transplant has been put off Sangeetha!! I will do try do the affirmations daily ..I just did them now for 20 times! We will continue to pray for Nook's health and continued recovery! May the power of gods be with your family!! We are with you in this Sangeetha, stay strong!!
