Last platelet count still at 17

This morning's 10 AM platelet count is still at 17 - the lungs are still a problem area with lots of fluid in it thereby impacting his oxygenation level. This is now at 80% (lower the number the better it is) - so all of you please do the lung affirmations so that his oxygenation levels improve which means only when he can breathe better and on his own, he can be off the ventilator - otherwise they will continue the ventilator and as you are aware each extra day in the ICU on the ventilator increases the risk of pneumonia. So we have an uphill battle for the kidneys, lungs and liver to return to normal.
