- They did a CT scan to figure out if there's an infection in the abdomen, lungs or brain. So basically a full body CT scan. Everything looked ok except the lungs which he thought had some reason to go look into.
- So the pulmonologist did a Bronchoscopy to see what's going on inside. Sent it for culture - will know in 1-2 days if anything is growing on it.
- The incision is healing ok I guess. It is draining less blood compared to the "Hindi movie style" blood (ketchup) gushing out. So either it's capping off and the drain can be removed or they're not sure the tubing has clotted somewhere..
- The nephrologist seems to be happy with the kidney function.
- The liver is still enlarged, but the doctor says that's expected given the spleen is out now, the liver will take over doing what the spleen is doing till the basic condition is treated (basically he still will need the transplant!).
- Yesterday, the platelet count came down to 71 so they infused him with 1 unit.
- Since the sedation level is reduced, he had his eyes open for most of the day today, and is getting pretty agitated with the ventilator in his mouth and with different people speaking to him - so the nurse finally said to let him rest now and back off a bit because if we stimulate him too much and he fights it, she will have to increase the sedation level and she doesnt want to do that. We have to let his strength build up back again slowly.
- The doctor ordered physical therapy to come in and start doing some range of motion exercises on his hands and legs since tomorrow is going to be the 21st day intubated.
- Last but the not the least (saved the best to the end), this afternoon's draw, platelets were BACK TO 102!!!!
