WELCOME TO NOOK'S HEALTH BLOG - STATUS UPDATES
My name is Sangeetha and I am authoring this blog on behalf of my husband - Nook (to friends) a.k.a Babu (to family) to provide some level of communication in terms of updates on his difficult journey to our supportive family and friends who are as anxious as I am for him to completely heal, and be whole and healthy again! Thank you all for your prayers and words of support and encouragement.

Monday's update
The nephrologist was comfortable with Nook's stats to take him off the continuous dialysis machine and put him on an intermittent dialysis requirement. Watching the kidney output to see what it makes (how much pee he makes in the bag in other words - ronak's favorite thing to check out when he comes here...)Nook still looks swollen to me, but they are giving him diuretics (lasics) to reduce swelling and water retention.
Platelets are 20 today at the last draw - they oscillate wildly - he's still being given blood, plasma and platelets around the clock....
His Picc line clotted today - so they had to change it to the other armand put in 3 extra ports...
He is now gain still running low grade fevers...I believe dialysis masks it - but now that it's off - the fever comes back!!! Need to ask the doc that!
Take care and let's continue the affirmations at 11am pst and 7 pm pst.
Thanks..

Sangeetha what's the status of blood requirement. Should we try to follow up with our contacts to see if we can get some donors?
