Sorry for the delay!

Hello everybody - I guess I didnt have a chance to update and it got a few people worried as to why things were quiet from this end and I didnt join the 11 AM call also to provide status update.

I ended up coming home last night and crashed right away and slept a lot (till Ronak actually wet the whole bed!) - and once I am home, I get diverted by cooking, cleaning the laundry etc and did not have a chance to even check email. Only when I started getting calls from people saying what's today's update - things are really quiet - I realized people are anxiously looking for updates for his health.

Today's platelet counts are at 24 - it was 12 all of yesterday and today...it's fluctuating a lot. But the good part is that his oxygenation level has come down to 55% (from 80%). There is still considerable fluid in the lungs (not the pleural effusion kind he had before - but just from the overall fluid in the body that's not successfully coming out as output). They have him on diuretics (medication to drain fluid) but that dehydrated him, so they stopped it.

The kidney function (creatinine level) has gone up a little bit. But atleast he is making good pee output.

The surgical incision site is still bleeding quite a bit - the surgeon said if that continues he will put a stitch in there.

So that's the update for today - slow and steady progress. Today marks the 14th day in the ICU.

I spoke to the Blood Donor center - regarding platelet and blood donation - yes, it will help him. I am sending details in the next post of logistics and how it can be done. If you are local, please consider donating.

Thanks,
